CaskMarkr is an early-stage concept exploring a public feed for cask and barrel tag photos. No feed, submission tool, or verification system exists yet — this page describes a proposal, not a live product.
How it works
Buyers of aged spirits, wine, and barrel-aged goods have no independent way to confirm what's actually in the barrel versus what's on the label. CaskMarkr proposes a shared reference point, but has not yet built any tool to provide one.
Producers would photograph a unique stamped tag on each cask and submit it with batch metadata to an open feed. Anyone could compare the photo and data against the bottle in front of them. This mechanism is a design proposal only — no submission pipeline or feed infrastructure currently exists.
Submissions could be faked without physical audits. Early submission volume could be low. The intended audience — whisky, rum, wine, and hot-sauce makers and collectors — is niche, which could limit how quickly any future feed gains real reference value.
The CASKMKR token is associated with this experiment as a way to potentially fund and reward early exploration, including future tag submitters and curators if such roles are ever defined. It carries no equity, revenue share, or ownership of physical goods, and grants no verification authority.
Future catalysts under discussion — none confirmed or built — include a first verified proof from a named craft distillery, a possible integration with a barrel-aging supply co-op, a weekly spotlight batch, and cross-post discussions with spirits review communities. These remain speculative until evidenced.
